The Faculty of Engineering LTH at Lund University
is happy to invite you to the BALTECH Annual Conference 2009,
to be held in Lund, March 26-27. The topic this year is "Educational
Environments of the Future and Quality of Teaching".

BALTECH
was initiated in May 1997.
There are 8 universities in BALTECH Consortium:
1. Helsinki University of Technology (TKK), Finland
2. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania
3. Linköping University (LiU), Sweden
4. Lund University (LU), Sweden
5. Riga Technical University (RTU), Latvia
6. Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden
7. Tallinn University of Technology (TUT), Estonia
8. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Lithuania
The Consortium has been set up with the aim to be the solid
base for wider partnership and closer cooperation between
universities in the Baltic Sea Region within the area of natural
sciences, technology and industrial management.
In the long term perspective the goal is to create a virtual
"Baltic Sea University of Science and Technology"
based on a number of universities around the Baltic Sea as
a strategic resource for long-term development of education
and research in accordance with the needs of the region.
The Consortium is governed by a
Board consisting of representatives of the Partner Universities
and a Secretariat appointed by the Board.
Major
activities:
- Joint
Master programmes in Industrial Engineering and Management
(started 1999), and
- Environmental Management and Cleaner Production (start 2002).
- Annual conferences and additional scientific conferences
- Teacher and student exchange, summer courses
- Support to scientific and educational projects
- Scholarships to master and PhD students (Baltech mobility
scholarship and ÅF grant)
- Exchange of information among administrative and academic
staff
- Baltech Student Union
